Physiotherapy for Children & Adults with Disability in the Clare Valley
Who is Physiotherapy for?
If your child or adult with a disability requires support to develop their big movement skills (gross motor skills), improve their balance, co-ordination or posture, our physiotherapists can help.
What do Physiotherapists do at Play Partners?
At Play Partners our physiotherapists work with families to assist children and adults with disability to develop movement skills.
These include but are not limited to crawling, walking, running, jumping, climbing, and balancing.
Physiotherapists are movement specialists and address the issues that contribute to difficulties learning gross motor skills. Common areas addressed include muscle tone, muscle weakness, muscle imbalance, motor planning and coordination difficulties.
Physiotherapists also consider posture, muscle strength, endurance and how these may be impacting on a person's ability to participate in their day-to-day activities.
There is evidence that improved gross motor skill has a positive impact on executive functioning which benefits neurodivergent people.
