Social Detectives Group at Play Partners

Social Detectives is a neuro-affirming program that supports developing social awareness and friendships for children aged 5-10 years old.

 

The program is flexible depending on the needs of the children attending. Teachings might include:

​

• Greetings including spoken word, gestures and sign. 

​

• What each child considers important in a friend and how this is different for each of us.

​

• How we might play with our friends, alongside, taking turns, making space for them etc.

​

• Conversations as a way of getting to know our friend. 

​

• How our friends might give us clues about how they are feeling. 

​

We attempt to run Social Detectives twice a year (subject to staff availability) as an 8-week program on Mondays at 4pm at Play Partners Centre.
